Applications are invited from local community groups for consideration under the above scheme for road-works on local public roads subject to adequate funding being made available.
While I do not agree that homeowners should have to pay anything towards road repairs when they already are paying road taxes and many other taxes. However, as this is the only way the Council can fund road repairs to tertiary and minor roads I am publicising this in case it is something that homeowners may want to consider.
Louth County Council proposes to base the scheme on a local contribution rate of 50% of the eligible cost of the works. A list of suitable schemes will then be assessed and considered for 50% match funding by Louth County Council. Further details can be obtained from the Operations Section of Louth County Council.
