Breathnach urges homes and businesses not to dump bonfire materials in run up to Halloween
Fianna Fáil TD Declan Breathnach has urged homes and businesses not to leave out materials for bonfires as Halloween approaches.
“With Halloween just over two weeks away, we are well and truly into ‘bonfire season’. Every year we see pallets, tyres, old furniture dumped on the side of the road which are then taken to be burned. Without supervision, these bonfires can be a huge safety hazard. The burning of waste can also release toxic pollutants into the air which are damaging to public health and the environment”
Breathnach continued “I urge communities contact Louth County Council Waste Enforcement at 042-9324101 to report stockpiling of bonfire material, as well as contacting an Garda Síochána to report anti-social behaviour in the run in to Halloween.
