Breathnach questions Minister on delay in Transport Support Payment scheme

-Minister Finian McGrath’s letter confirms the issue was brought to cabinet in 2018 but nothing came of it –
Fianna Fáil TD Declan Breathnach has questioned Health Minister Simon Harris on the delay in introducing the Transport Support Payment Scheme. This scheme helps people with disabilities by providing €208.50 to cover transport costs.

“This scheme was closed in 2013, and although those who were on it have retained it, there are much more people know in desperate need of it. I’m aware of many constituents in Louth with disabilities who are struggling to afford to travel. The scheme needs to be re-opened urgently to serve the most vulnerable members of society.”
