Breathnach relieved that customers will not face roaming charges post Brexit

– Confirmation was given yesterday by all the major operators that they do not intend to introduce roaming charges whatever shape Brexit takes –

Fianna Fáil TD for Louth and East Meath Declan Breathnach has welcomed a commitment given by all the major operators of mobile networks that there will be no return to roaming charges, whatever shape Brexit takes.

“I have been very vocal on this issue for a long time.  Inadvertent roaming happens all the time in the border region and indeed just north of where I live where the phone signal which is the strongest at any time is the one which your phone connects to.”

“I would not wish to see mobile phone bills increase unfairly after Brexit for those living in the border area, so I am confident now with the assurances given by mobile network operators both here and in the UK that there will be no change post Brexit.
