– Any increase in diesel price would severely impact on the farming and Haulage sector as well as domestic –

Fianna Fáil TD for Louth and East Meath Declan Breathnach has spoken of the detrimental affect any increase in the cost of diesel would have.

“I would be very concerned for our farming community as well as the fisheries sector if the price of diesel including the reduced rate diesel were to increase.  This would also impact seriously on the haulage industry, and domestic users. Families are hard pressed as it is and the government does not need to add to this. It cannot be allowed to happen”

“The Fianna Fáil Party and our finance spokesperson Michael McGrath will block any plan to increase the cost of duty on diesel in the up-coming budget”
