– Already delays on the motorways with confused commuters making enquires at toll booths –
Fianna Fáil TD for Louth and East Meath Declan Breathnach has again asked the Minister for Transport Tourism and Sports, Shane Ross, to intervene in the dispute between Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and Celtic Roads Group (CRG).
“This dispute has been ongoing for quite some time now and I had hoped for a resolution before now. eFlow have stated that they will not be renewing their contract with Celtic Roads Group which is due to expire at the end of August. This will lead to the removal of barrier free tolling for eFlow customers.”
“Minister for Transport Shane Ross must intervene in this dispute. Transport Infrastructure Ireland has overall responsibility for eFlow. Therefore CRG must be instructed to re-enter negotiations and get an agreement signed. If a deal cannot be struck following this then an independent mediator should be appointed.”
The issue only affects eFlow tag holders. The eToll website have advised customers of eFlow that if they want a tag that works on all tolled roads in Ireland then they will need to close their account with eFlow and open an account with an alternative tag provider. A list of tag providers can be found at: http://etoll.ie/getting-a-tag/irish-tag-companies/index.xml
